Position Description The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for coordinating and fulfilling the responsibilities of the full payroll cycle including timekeeping, processing payroll, payroll reporting, payroll reconciliations, and payroll tax reporting. This position partners closely with Human Resources and is expected to stay on top of all best practices, rules, and laws impacting payroll. Major Responsibilities

Performs tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records. Monitors adherence to negotiated contracts. Check and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards. Reviews time and attendance records. Performs a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities efficiently and accurately; including computation of wage and overtime payments, calculation and recording of payroll deductions, processing off-cycle payroll runs, and processing terminations. Although duties normally follow established procedures, responsibilities may include routine, minor corrections to make documents acceptable for processing. Balance and control earnings and deductions totals. Calculate and prepare general ledger entries. Inspect automated system output such as registers and standard reports. Determine and correct out-of-balance conditions. Prepare and file tax reports. Create check and/or funding requests for payroll obligations. Gather payroll data for inclusion in financial statements. Research and prepare special reports for management. Process garnishments and levies. Process improvement and process documentation.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum three(3) years of working in an intermediate to senior payroll specialist role in a medium-sized organization required Associate's degree or equivalent experience required Demonstrated experience with bookkeeping/accounting/payroll requirements specific to payroll Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required FPC or CPP designation preferred Experience working as sole payroll specialist preferred Experience preparing tax reporting preferred Experience reconciling payroll preferred Infor/Lawson experience preferred Kronos Timekeeping experience preferred

Schedule 1.0 FTE; 40 hours/week; Day Shift; non-union
