Salary Range: $34.22 - $50.96 per hour

Position Summary: The Healthcare Data Analyst Abstractor’s primary responsibility is abstraction of data from clinical documentation and patient records for submission to various oversight bodies or programs including but not limited to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CSM), Foundation for Health Care Quality (FHCQ), Washington State Department of Health (DOH), Washington’s State Hospital Association (WSHA) and the hospital’s accrediting organization. The duties of the healthcare data analyst/abstractor includes creating reports, aggregating data, data analysis, organizing databases, and other like duties. Likewise, the incumbent may assist staff with access to information or provide reports and data to physicians, researchers, or facility administrators. Additionally, the position will focus on Continuous Quality Improvement throughout the organization by reviewing and managing data outcomes to identify opportunities, data accuracy, and identify new metrics for improvement to include training opportunities for staff. The employee enable quality improvement through the assignment or attendance of various committees or staff meetings required. Accountable to the Director of Quality, Risk, and Compliance.

Job Requirements: Minimum of two years’ knowledge & experience in Healthcare/Medical Data Analysis, Medical Terminology; Bachelor's degree in (Data Analytics, Informatics, Computer Science, or Business Analytics backgrounds); Experience in SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, Report Building, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR); Knowledge of healthcare operations, regulations, and compliance requirements; Strong analytical and problem- solving skills; Deliver on monthly, and quarterly reports; Create summarized themes in the form of infographics, PowerPoints, Graphs, & Executive Written Summaries; Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks within tight timelines; Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Excellent communication skills/ability to communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.

General Responsibilities Ability to work as a productive member of a team; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project management and process improvement initiatives; Support the Quality Department’s projects and improvement initiatives; Project support all the Quality Department projects and improvement initiatives; Build reports, develop dashboards and reports to communicate insights and trends to internal organization leaders, board members, and stakeholders; Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve patient care and operational efficiencies; Provide data analysis and reporting support to various departments within the organization; Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies related to healthcare data analysis; Must be able to problem solve and adjust priorities with little advance notice to meet deadlines and requests.
