Buyer Materials Management Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Benefitted | Monday–Friday Starting Pay: $23.00, DOE Help Keep Exceptional Patient Care Moving Why This Role Matters Every patient interaction at Moab Regional Hospital depends on something being there when it's needed. From everyday medical supplies to specialized equipment, having the right products available at the right time and at the right price is essential to delivering excellent patient care. As our Buyer, you'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in making that happen. You'll collaborate with physicians, department managers, Inventory Specialists, vendors, Accounts Payable, and other hospital teams to coordinate purchasing, solve supply challenges, maintain accurate pricing and product information, and help ensure our teams have the resources they need to care for our community. Meet Your Team You'll join a collaborative Materials Management team and work closely with: Physicians and clinical teams Department managers and leaders throughout the hospital Inventory Specialists Accounts Payable Vendors and supplier representatives Our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) Teams throughout MRH who depend on Materials Management every day In a rural hospital, collaboration matters. How You'll Make a Difference Collaborate with physicians, department managers, Inventory Specialists, and department leads to identify supply and equipment needs. Determine appropriate sources and order supplies and equipment according to hospital and departmental policies. Work with our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) to help ensure correct pricing is maintained in the Materials Management Information System (MMIS). Partner with Accounts Payable to help ensure invoicing is accurate. Request charge codes for products used in patient care and enter appropriate information into the item master to support patient billing. Meet regularly with vendors to receive product information and evaluate purchasing options. Request product samples and coordinate product returns and credits. Prepare bid specifications, develop basic Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and review quotations. Work with the Inventory Specialist to ensure supplies received from vendors are properly recorded and documented each day. Help resolve issues involving pricing, product availability, product quality, and delivery. Use Excel and other available information to support purchasing and bid-process decisions. Serve as a backup for other responsibilities within Materials Management as needed. Grow With Us Healthcare supply chain is far more than ordering products. What You'll Bring High school diploma or GED equivalency required; college coursework in general education or business preferred. Previous purchasing experience within a public entity and/or medical setting preferred. Knowledge of purchasing and contracting policies, laws, and regulations preferred. Excellent written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness and ability to learn and follow organizational procurement policies and procedures. Ability to investigate and resolve issues involving pricing, product availability, quality, and delivery. Ability to perform analysis using Excel to support bid-process decisions. Knowledge of purchasing Previous experience with the Meditech MMIS system preferred. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently on a regular basis and assist with moving heavier objects as needed.
