Position Summary:

The Retail Pharmacy Clerk supports daily operations of the outpatient pharmacy by assisting customers, processing transactions, and maintaining an organized, welcoming retail environment. This role greets customers, directs inquiries, and enters required information into pharmacy systems to help ensure efficient patient flow and timely service. Working closely with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, the Retail Pharmacy Clerk supports smooth workflow through routine restocking, upkeep of the over-the-counter (OTC) area, and reliable clerical assistance. This position functions within a collaborative, service-oriented team environment and contributes to a positive customer experience through attention to detail, professionalism, and adherence to confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers, assist with general inquiries, and help manage the flow of patients at the pharmacy counter to support efficient service.
Operate the cash register and charge systems, ensuring accurate processing of payments, returns, and daily transaction records.
Maintain and restock the OTC area, organizing shelves, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring products are clean, accessible, and properly labeled.
Enter customer and patient information into pharmacy computer systems with accuracy and compliance with confidentiality requirements.
Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff, providers, and customers to relay messages, answer questions, and support overall pharmacy operations.
Assist with basic clerical tasks such as filing, organizing supplies, and supporting workflow needs during high-volume periods.
