Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist - Per diem

Per Diem PhlebotomistBoulder City Hospital – Boulder City, NVJoin Our Team!Boulder City Hospital is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Per Diem Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood specimens and other laboratory samples from patients while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position works closely with laboratory personnel, nursing staff, and providers to support quality patient care.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on patients of all ages.Properly identify patients and verify specimen labeling accuracy.Collect, process, and transport specimens according to established laboratory protocols.Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations.Assist in maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.Provide courteous and professional interactions with patients, families, and staff.Respond effectively in fast-paced and high-volume environments.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred.Current phlebotomy certification preferred.Previous phlebotomy experience in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting preferred.Knowledge of specimen collection, handling, and processing procedures.Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.Frequent use of hands and fingers for specimen collection and laboratory tasks.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Ability to perform duties requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.Why Boulder City Hospital?Supportive team environmentOpportunity to serve your local communityFlexible per diem schedulingMeaningful work making a difference in patient careBoulder City Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
