Job Description

Central Peninsula Hospital is seeking a professional to join our Risk Management team, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the department. The position may be filled as either a Risk Management Coordinator or Risk Manager based on qualifications and experience. About the Positions: The Coordinator role serves as an entry point into the risk management profession by contributing to patient safety, incident management, and claims coordination. This role manages the day-to-day operations of the incident reporting system, including follow-up, documentation, and communication, while also coordinating key aspects of the organization#s insurance program and serving as a liaison with carriers. The Coordinator helps identify risks, fosters a culture of safety and reporting, and participates in process improvement efforts. The Manager role provides strategic leadership for the organization#s risk management program, overseeing risk, patient safety, and claims management. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the incident reporting system, ensuring effective reporting, follow-up, analysis, and organizational learning. The Risk Manager serves as the primary liaison with insurance carriers. This position proactively identifies and mitigates risk, supports process improvement, and promotes a culture of safety, trust, and accountability. Required Qualifications: # Bachelor#s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. # Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting. # Experience managing confidential information and coordinating complex processes. # BLSP certification within three (3) months of employment. # Certification in Quality, Safety, or Risk Management within one (1) year of employment. Preferred Qualifications for Risk Manager Placement: # Four (4) or more years of healthcare risk management, patient safety, quality improvement, compliance, or related experience. # Experience leading organizational risk reduction initiatives. # Experience managing claims, insurance programs, and incident reporting systems. # Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across departments. # Successful experience in the Risk Management Coordinator role at Central Peninsula Hospital.
