EvergreenHealth Monroe, a small semi-rural acute care hospital has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Outpatient REGISTERED NURSE to fill a position in our Ambulatory Care Unit.  Working together, we exist to serve the changing health care needs of our community. Wage Range: $
43.34 - $80.20
per hour.
The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role.  Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, applicable education and internal equity.

JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:  Adheres to Hospital Policies and Procedures and Philosophy of Care. Consistently exhibits professional conduct that is a behavior-based expression of the hospital’s Heart of the Matter principles.  Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within ACU.  Provides nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the Washington State Nurse Practice Act.  Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning.  Participates in unit and hospital Performance Improvement activities.  Assumes Charge Nurse role as assigned.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to respond to rapidly changing patient needs.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to function on the unit.  Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, and current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license.  Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire date and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire date.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS
:
Ability to initiate a nursing plan of care using the nursing process.  Ability to organize and prioritize patient assignments and unit activities.  Ability to safely use equipment specific to the nursing unit.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS
:
Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous substances, and risk of physical injury from transferring and transporting patients and operation of equipment.
WORK CONTACT GROUP
:  All hospital staff, patients, families, visitors, medical staff, and the public.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and transfer and transport patients.  Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull.  Walks and stands for most of the working day.  Must possess visual, tactile, and manual dexterity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION/TECHNICAL
Uses all available resources in the initial assessment of patient needs including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, discharge planning, self care and education; performs a reassessment after each intervention, upon transfer and discharge.
Formulates and revises plan of care for assigned pa­tients based on patient problems, patient age, nursing interventions and treatment, and specific patient outcomes.
Delivers individualized patient care consistent with established sta­ndards of care, policies and procedures, and other regulatory stan­dards.
Makes effective nursing judgements including crisis/emergency situa­tions.
Determines the effectiveness of patient care through patient inter­views, assessment, and patient compliance to the plan of care; ad­justs patient care to meet changing needs.
Appropriately delegates tasks but retains ultimate responsibility. Reports to Charge Nurse.
Maintains the role of patient advocate.
Initiates or participates in performance improvement activities for the department or organization. i.e. using 2 patient identifiers for Rx.
Remains knowledgeable of all current nursing policies/procedures.
Identifies patient's/significant other's needs for education and pro­vides education using appropriate educational modalities.
Maintains complete, accurate, concise documentation of patient sta­tus, nursing interventions and patient responses.
Recognizes risk management issues and reports appropriately to Charge Nurse or CNM
.
Actively participates in assessing and communicating the patient's needs.
Completes unit based competencies per hospital requirements and policies.
Demonstrates proficiency in department specific nursing skills to pro­vide total patient care.
Uses an understanding of the prin­ciples of growth and develop­ment to as­sess each patient's age specific needs and pro­vide age specific treat­ment and care.
Communicates assessment data and findings to other members of the health care team and facilitates appropriate intervention.
Provides or assists with orientation of new and existing staff.
Demonstrates attitudes and/or behaviors in interacting with others that are courteous, polite, concerned, friendly and respectful, re­sulting in favorable patient, physician and staff perceptions of the hospital and its employees.
Other duties as assigned.
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between EvergreenHealth Monroe and SEIU Healthcare 1199NW.
