HIM Specialist

The HIM Specialist is responsible for the release of medical information; assisting in the analysis and processing of incomplete medical records, distribution functions, completion of birth certificates, and processing of internal and external requests; provides assistance to the physicians in completion of records. Provides excellent customer service to all customers.

\- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
\- Two (2) years of college and/or other related course work, such as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred.
\- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) credential preferred.
\- 1-3 years progressive Health Information Management experience preferred
\- Must have proficient computer skills.
\- Experience with an Electronic Medical Records system preferred.
\- Knowledge of Health Information Management software applications .
\- Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Team Members at all levels in the organization.
\- Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required.
\- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to assist in providing exceptional care for our patients and their families.
