# **Behavioral Health Counselor - Brook Lane** Brook Lane is seeking a compassionate and motivated **LMSW, LGPC, LCSW‑C, or LCPC** to join our Cumberland, MD team. This role offers meaningful autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of patients and families through high‑quality, professional counseling services. ## **About the Role** In this position, you will function with independence and clinical judgment while providing therapeutic services across a diverse patient population. You will: * **Complete psychosocial and mental health assessments** to identify patient needs. * **Diagnose, counsel, and support** patients and families through a variety of behavioral health challenges. * **Develop and implement individualized treatment plans** that promote healing, stability, and improved functioning. * **Provide education, resources, and referrals** to help patients adjust to illness and maintain optimal personal and family well‑being. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient‑centered care. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who values both autonomy and teamwork in a supportive behavioral health environment. ## **Qualifications** ### **Education** * Master's degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution. ### **Experience** * **Preferred:** One year of experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting. ### **Licensure / Certification** * Must hold **LMSW, LGPC, LCSW‑C, or LCPC** licensure in the State of Maryland. * Must be licensed at least at the **graduate level** ; LCSW‑C preferred. ### **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** * Strong understanding of counseling principles, practices, and professional standards. * Knowledge of community resources and social service systems. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. * Ability to build rapport, maintain professionalism, and support patients with empathy and clinical expertise. **Happy to Help** At Meritus, we believe in a collaborative and caring work environment.
