Patient Access Financial Counselor

Job SummaryWorks with scheduled, pre-registered patients prior to service for outpatient oncology physicians clinic and infusion.Coordinates with interdepartmental personnel.Performs financial clearance function for every patient on assigned worklist within the department approved timeline and using workflow tools as designed. Effectively works to resolve any identified or outstanding issues for the patients they have financially cleared at any time during the revenue cycle.Works on any special projects or initiatives related to the workflow of patient access with a mind open to change and with a full awareness of the focus on patient and provider satisfaction. QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Experience3 year’s experience in healthcare-related industry or hospital Patient Accounting or Patient Access department, with an emphasis on customer service, point-of-service-collection, credit and collections, insurance verification or billing is preferred.
