Join us and experience the difference at Northfield Hospital + Clinics. # Job Title Clinic Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse # Job Summary The Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participates in the delivery of quality patient care in accordance with the guidelines, policies, and standards of Northfield Hospital + Clinics. This position supports patient care by carrying out clinical tasks within the scope of practice and as directed by providers, maintaining supplies and equipment, and collaborating effectively with patients and members of the healthcare team. The role contributes to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care, promotes teamwork and care coordination, and provides age-appropriate care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. # Compensation We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education, and internal equity considerations.The hourly wage range for this position is:#Medical Assistant: $21.08#$29.76 per hour;#Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): $22.80#$32.18#per hour. These ranges reflect the base pay for each position. # Key Accountabilities Patient Care Prepares charts for appointments and reviews pertinent information. Prepares, administers, and documents medications in accordance with established policies and procedures. Monitors provider orders to ensure completion. Assists providers as needed. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Only Provides direct, individualized nursing care within the LPN scope of practice. Prepares and gathers all medical information for scheduled patients. Conducts focused assessments of patient health status through collection and comparison of data to normal findings and current patient condition. Implements delegated, ordered, or prescribed interventions, including but not limited to electrocardiograms, Holter monitors, splint and brace application, wound dressing changes, suture removal, and staple removal. Assists in evaluating patient responses to interventions and reports changes to the RN Care Coordinator or provider. Provides health care information and education to patients. Prepares laboratory specimens and performs urinalysis, glucose testing, and drug test collection in accordance with laboratory policies. Assigns and monitors nursing tasks delegated to unlicensed assistive personnel. Medical Assistant Only Prepares exam and treatment rooms prior to patient visits. Rooms patients and prepares them for exams, tests, and procedures. Obtains and accurately records vital signs and physical measurements. Performs medical office procedures as ordered by the provider. Collects laboratory specimens and completes required documentation in accordance with laboratory policies. Completes administrative tasks and paperwork for providers, patients, and parents/guardians. Assists patients with scheduling appointments as needed. Coordinates prior authorizations for medications and imaging studies with insurance companies. Works with providers, patients, and parents/guardians to complete required forms and documentation. Communication Communicates pertinent information to providers and members of the healthcare team. Informs the medical or nursing team of urgent patient needs or changes in condition. Relays test results accurately and in accordance with established procedures. Accurately communicates and documents information in a timely manner. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Only Advocates for the best interests of patients. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. Provides input into the development and improvement of department policies and procedures. Equipment and Supplies Ensures equipment and supplies are available and adequately stocked for patient care. Properly cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Only Prepares supply lists and assists the Patient Care Supervisor with ordering supplies and equipment for clinical use. Qualifications New graduates are encouraged to apply! Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Medical Assistant: Non-certified/non-registered applicants must have graduated from an accredited program that included a clinical externship and must provide proof of program completion. LPN:#Current Minnesota LPN license, in good standing Current BLS certification or enrollment in the NH+C RQI program, with all program requirements completed within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current by completing quarterly assignments before the end of each calendar quarter. Ability to learn and use electronic health records and other computer programs. Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.
