MEDICAL IMAGING XRAY TECHNOLOGIST

**_SCHEDULE: 0900-2130 FULL TIME: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday_** **_JOB SUMMARY:_** Responsible for providing medical imaging services as directed by the physician and/or radiologist. Completes assigned responsibilities within his/her certification with little or no direct supervision. Participates in performance improvement activities and quality monitoring for the department. **Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:** * Graduate of a program for Radiologic Techs. * ARRT registered and obtained Iowa permit to practice prior to taking x-rays. * Previous hospital experience preferred. * Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date. * Must possess a valid Iowa driver's license and meet satisfactory motor vehicle record requirements, if applicable. * Must maintain and provide proof of his/her own auto insurance policy, if applicable. * Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. * High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others. * Ability to communicate well verbally. Must work effectively as a member of a team. * Strong computer knowledge * Technical skills associated with duties listed within this job description. Must be competent in all assigned areas. * Willingness to complete further radiographic education or certification as required by the department. * Must demonstrate leadership and effective communication skills as required for this position.
