Responsibilities:
-
Assists in operating, maintaining and repairing all equipment that supplies the hospital complex with, water, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

Responds to routine and emergent service calls as they relate to MEP systems, HVAC and building controls systems, and boiler and heating systems. Trouble shoots leaks and breakdowns.

Operates and maintains equipment such as air compressors, boilers, chillers, generators, pumping systems, medical air/vacuum systems, reheat systems.

Cleans, lubricates, calibrates and adjusts all equipment according to preventive maintenance schedules.

Performs testing of water samples. Adds water treatment to boilers, heating and cooling water systems.

Perform as required emergency generator tests and logs all results.

Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, ACM and other hazardous substances.

Fills out daily log sheets and daily round sheets. Submits this paperwork to the appropriate supervisor.

Assists the facilities management team in the planning and implementation of new programs and processes.

Routinely requests supplies needed to fulfill daily responsibilities.

Works with building management software to control equipment and monitor systems.

Responds to medical equipment calls as needed.
Qualifications:
-
High School or Trade/Vocational school graduate with 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the hospital or healthcare setting.

Operations Engineer II (OE2), Unlimited Heating, Piping, and Cooling License, or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment required.

Ability to read blueprints, control schematics, technical manuals and specifications, as well as basic knowledge of all HVAC and mechanical systems/processes required.

Large plant experience with high pressure steam and chilled water production required.
