Summary : The MRI Technologist II is responsible for independently performing a wide range of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to produce high quality diagnostic images. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong clinical judgment, and adherence to established imaging protocols across all patient age groups. The technologist safely prepares and positions patients, operates MRI equipment, administers contrast materials, and reviews images for diagnostic integrity. MRI Technologist II staff are expected to work with minimal supervision, support quality control activities, identify equipment or workflow issues, guide less experienced staff when needed, and maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and patientcare standards. Essential Functions Confirms exam indications, ensures orders match scheduled procedures, and accurately documents clinical information and patient history. Explains procedures, assesses patient readiness, alleviates anxiety, and ensures compliance with patient safety and comfort standards. Conducts thorough screening for patients and staff, manages SAR levels appropriately, and maintains a safe MRI environment. Positions patients using proper technique and immobilization tools to achieve optimal diagnostic images, adjusting protocols when necessary. Selects and modifies scanning parameters, sequences, and exposure factors based on protocols and patient needs. Evaluates images for accuracy, completeness, and diagnostic quality; repeats sequences as needed to meet radiologist requirements. Performs IV access, administers contrast per protocol, and monitors for adverse reactions, documenting appropriately. Verifies correct exam codes, updates billing information, uploads images, and prepares prior studies for radiologist review. Conducts daily QC, reports malfunctions, assists in resolving technical issues, and ensures equipment readiness. Assists with ordering supplies, maintaining clean and organized workspaces, supporting technologist orientation when needed, and completing additional duties as assigned. Document accurately in the EMR/RIS/PACS: patient assessments, imaging details, contrast usage, dose indices, and procedural notes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Program Radiological Technology Or Technical Program Magnetic Resonance Program Florida license - Radiology Technologist Certifications: BLS and ARRT MRI Registered or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (AMRIT) Knowledge of customer service concepts and clinic policies including safety, privacy and HIPAA regulations 2 years of MRI experience
