Medical Director, Trauma & Operative Services

We also have three healthplexes with stand-alone, 24/7 emergency departments and a variety of outpatient services throughout the region. Our physician practices are home to more than 500 physicians representing nearly every specialty. WakeMed is seeking a Medical Director of Trauma Services to provide clinical, operational, research and strategic leadership for the trauma program at WakeMed, Level I Trauma Center (Raleigh).  Our team currently consists of 26 surgeons, residents and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). Our surgeons provide trauma/emergency general surgery. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care for injured patients across the continuum—from pre-hospital through rehabilitation—while maintaining compliance with ACS and state trauma designation standards and advancing performance, research, and prevention initiatives.
