At WakeMed, we’re looking for passionate, driven students who are eager to grow, learn, and support exceptional patient care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal settings. Eligibility RequirementThis opportunity is exclusively for students currently enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy program at Wake Technical Community College (Wake Tech). Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited program to be considered. About the RoleAs a Respiratory Care Apprentice, you’ll play a vital role behind the scenes—supporting our Respiratory Care team by ensuring equipment is patient-ready, workspaces are efficient, and supplies are readily available. This is a hands-on opportunity to build your clinical foundation while workingalongside an experienced, mission-driven team. What You’ll DoInventory & Supplies Management (40%)Maintain inventory of respiratory equipment and suppliesPlace orders, verify shipments, and manage receiptsAccurately document inventory and support supply availabilityEquipment Set-Up (30%)Prepare and set up respiratory equipment to ensure readinessConfirm basic functionality to support safe patient careEquipment Maintenance (30%)Monitor and evaluate equipment performanceAssist with tracking required inspectionsCommunicate equipment issues in alignment with policySupport Clinical Engineering with preventive maintenance Living the WakeWay to ExcellenceAt WakeMed, how we work matters just as much as what we do.
