Company: Marin General Hospital dba MarinHealth Medical Center Compensation Range: $0.00 - $0.00 Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Job Description Summary: The Senior Vice President of Operations (SVP, Operations) for MarinHealth Medical Network (MHMN) is responsible for the operational, financial, and clinical performance of the Network’s ambulatory practices. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of MarinHealth, this executive provides day-to-day operational leadership, performance management, and execution of strategic priorities for MHMN. The SVP of Operations works in close partnership with physician leadership and the MarinHealth executive team to ensure efficient, seamless operations and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is accountable for driving operational excellence, standardizing systems and processes, improving patient access and experience, and advancing the Network’s readiness for value-based care. The SVP of Operations plays a critical role in advancing a cohesive, high-performing medical group that is aligned with MarinHealth’s strategic goals and positioned for sustainable growth. Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions: Job Specifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree required Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Experience & Knowledge Minimum of five (5) years of senior operational leadership experience in a complex, multispecialty medical group or physician network, preferably affiliated with a health system. Demonstrated success partnering with physicians to improve operational performance, quality, and patient experience. Strong knowledge of medical group operations, ambulatory care delivery, healthcare regulations, and compliance requirements. Proven financial and operational acumen, with the ability to balance quality, service, efficiency, and financial performance. Working knowledge of revenue cycle operations, billing, and reimbursement for ambulatory services. Experience with physician compensation models, productivity measurement, and value-based care initiatives. Familiarity with contemporary digital and operational strategies in healthcare. Innovative, pragmatic, and performance-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset License and Certifications: N/A Reporting Relationships The Senior Vice President of Operations, MHMN reports to: Chief Executive Officer, MarinHealth The SVP of Operations is a member of the MarinHealth executive team, which includes: Chief Financial Officer Chief Medical Officer Chief Nursing Officer Chief Human Resources Officer Chief Information Officer Chief Development Officer Direct reports may include: Director, Clinical Programs - Cardiology Executive Director, Operations Director, Primary Care Director, Specialty Services Matrix / dotted-line relationships: Vice President, Medical Affairs Director, Revenue Cycle Director, Finance Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Provide executive leadership for the daily operations of MarinHealth Medical Network, ensuring consistent, efficient, and high-quality care delivery across all practices. Standardize organizational structures, workflows, operating models, and performance expectations across MHMN clinics in alignment with MarinHealth strategy. Lead the operational integration of newly acquired practices and physicians, ensuring alignment with Network standards, culture, and performance goals. Develop and sustain effective operating support functions necessary to optimize practice performance. Performance Management & Analytics Establish and manage a culture of accountability through the use of performance metrics, dashboards, and benchmark analysis. Monitor clinical, operational, financial, and patient experience outcomes and ensure corrective action plans are implemented as needed. Improve clinician productivity through effective resource utilization, staffing models, and removal of operational barriers. Physician & APP Engagement Partner closely with physician leaders and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to engage them in operational decision-making, process improvement, and performance improvement initiatives. Foster strong relationships with the medical staff to drive alignment, trust, and collaboration. Support physician leadership development and promote best practice sharing across the Network. Patient Experience & Service Excellence Lead efforts to improve patient access, scheduling efficiency, communication, and overall patient experience. Promote and sustain a contemporary, patient-centered service excellence culture across all Network practices. Reduce wait times, improve clinic flow, and leverage digital tools to enhance patient engagement and satisfaction. Financial & Strategic Execution Drive strong operational and financial performance through disciplined execution of revenue growth, cost management, and efficiency initiatives. Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership on physician recruitment, practice growth, and market expansion strategies. Support the development and execution of major operational initiatives, including new medical office buildings and consolidation of clinic sites. Workforce & Talent Management Oversee provider and staff recruitment for MHMN in collaboration with Human Resources and physician leadership. Ensure appropriate staffing models that balance productivity, quality, employee engagement, and provider well-being. Mentor and retain high-performing operational leaders and staff. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and MarinHealth policies. Promote consistent application of policies and procedures across all Network practices. Goals and Objectives Key priorities for the Senior Vice President of Operations include: Establish credibility and trust with physicians, staff, and executive leadership as a visible, engaged, and effective operational leader. Achieve strong operational and financial performance through disciplined execution and measurable improvement. Implement an operations scorecard tracking key metrics such as patient satisfaction, access, wait times, call center performance, staff efficiency, revenue cycle performance, and denial rates. Lead operational planning and execution for medical office development and consolidation initiatives. Improve patient experience through enhanced access, communication, and clinical operations. Align outpatient operations with hospital-based service lines to ensure seamless care coordination. Assess and optimize clinic staffing, management structures, and operational workflows. Support evolution of physician compensation and incentive models in preparation for value-based reimbursement. Strengthen physician recruitment, retention, and engagement across primary care and specialty services.
