FirstHealth of the Carolinas has been nationally recognized as a top 150 place to work in health care by Becker's Healthcare for two consecutive years.  ResponsibilitiesPatient Registration: Register patients accurately and efficiently.Insurance Verification: Verify insuranceDemographic Verification: Ensure all patient demographic information is up to date.Customer Service: Maintain a customer-centric approach when dealing with all types of patients, both internal and external.Communication: Provide clear and effective communication with patients and medical staff.Administrative Duties: Manage multiple tasks in an organized manner, complete required documentation, and follow up on outstanding issuesJob functions include: Telephone  patient registration, preparation and scanning of medical records. Shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. QualificationsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or GED required.Understanding of medical terminology.Two years of experience in a medical-related field preferred.Bilingual skills preferred.Skills:Strong verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Proficient in typing (minimum 35 wpm) and computer literate.Commitment to excellent customer service.Working Conditions/Physical Demands:Primary office environment/workstation.Potential exposure to communicable diseases.Physical requirements include:Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and the spine.Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.Medium physical effort required, including lifting up to 40 pounds and frequently carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds. FirstHealth values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and works to create a culture of excellence in which all team members feel valued, connected, treated fairly and safe, and where differences are both respected and supported.
