This role serves as a leader, role model, and subject matter expert for call center pharmacy technicians and access coordinators.The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily operations to ensure accurate, timely, and patient-centered service delivery aligned with ChristianaCare’s Core Values of Love and Excellence. This position supports staff development, operational efficiency, and adherence to established workflows and standards, while demonstrating sound judgment in identifying and escalating clinical, operational, or patient safety concerns to pharmacists and pharmacy leadership.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee and coordinate daily operations of Pharmacy Technician I, II, III roles and Access Coordinators supporting the Specialty Pharmacy ProgramProvide direct supervision of assigned staff, including hiring support, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and completion of evaluationsDevelop staff schedules, manage time and attendance, and maintain timecards to ensure appropriate coverageEnsure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, safety practices, and HR requirements; provide education and corrective action as neededServe as a working supervisor by performing technician and access coordinator duties during staffing gaps or increased demandOversee specialty pharmacy workflows to ensure productivity, quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (URAC, ACHC, state, and federal requirements)Lead and support quality improvement and process optimization initiativesParticipate in program planning, including development of goals, monitoring operational trends, and identifying growth opportunitiesSupport educational activities, including assisting with precepting pharmacy students and residents under pharmacist supervisionContribute to policy and procedure development, review, and implementationPromote a Culture of Responsibility by supporting investigations, addressing performance concerns, and mitigating risksEnsure compliance with departmental safety standards and maintain a safe work environmentParticipate in leadership meetings, operational initiatives, and accreditation readiness activities (e.g., Joint Commission, URAC, ACHC)Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersEnsure a clean, organized workspace and hold staff accountable to the same standardsFoster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among team membersMonitor and ensure compliance with required education and training for assigned staffMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience in specialty pharmacy requiredPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related fieldPrevious supervisory or leadership experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Why ChristianaCare?Nationally recognized for quality and innovationSupportive, inclusive culture with opportunities for career advancementComprehensive benefits and professional development programsA chance to make a meaningful impact on the health of our communityReady to lead with purpose?Life is full of choices.
