Painter Technician

**Description:** Prepares, paints, stains, and decorates interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures. Responsible for refinishing and decorating surfaces. Care of brushes, paint rollers, and other equipment, taking precautions to prevent injury to others from falling ladders, paint containers, and other equipment used. **Essential Functions:** Prepares surfaces for painting/vinyling. Paints, stains and finishes surfaces. Hangs wallpaper and vinyl wall covering. **Other functions include:** Cut stencils Stencil surfaces with lettering or decorations. Installs base cove (carpet and tile). Moves furniture. Orders supplies. Erects scaffolding. Removes and rehangs wall ornaments, to include shelving. Spray paints. Reglues carpet and floor tile. Caulks around windows and cabinets. Hangs drywall. Measure for wall vinyl and border. Skim coats walls. Cleans and maintains equipment and paint shop areas. Attends and participants in personnel development and training programs.
