**SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Nursing Services (SDNS), the Nursing Informaticist may assume responsibility for a patient assignment on the home unit. The RN utilizes and acquires knowledge of current and best practices in patient care. The RN retains the responsibility for the direction and guidance of ancillary personnel activities within the unit. The RN works to support the 5 pillars of excellence: people, quality, service, finance and growth.

The RN understands and adheres to all LRH and department specific policies and procedures as well as to the practice standards set forth in the New Hampshire Nurse Practice Act. This position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of Littleton Regional Healthcare and demonstrates a commitment of quality service to patients, the public, coworkers and physicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* The Staff Registered Nurse--Clinical Lead Informatics performs all essential functions of a Staff Registered Nurse related to home department as well as the following responsibilities:
* Responsible for training of all hospital nursing staff as pertains to electronic documentation
* Ensures that all nursing staff have electronic access to all necessary equipment requiring a password
* Facilitates ongoing education related to the electronic medical record.
* Facilitates submission, monitoring and follow up of service tickets related to the electronic medical record
* Troubleshoots and supports staff in regard to electronic medical record issues
* Completes ergonomic assessments with each new hire

**REPORTS TO:** Senior Director Nursing Services

**SUPERVISES:** A Registered Nurse directs, by licensure, all nursing activities performed by ancillary staff assigned to the unit. Numbers supervised varies according to patient census and acuity.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Knowledge of current electronic medical record

**Experience/Specialized Skills:**

* BLS certification (exempt if current in ACLS **and **PALS)
* ACLS certification
* PALS certification


**Required Education/Course(s)/Training: **

* Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
* 1-2 years previous clinical nursing experience in acute care setting preferred


**Preferred Certification/Registration:**

* National certification strongly encouraged but not required
