Interested applicants - Please forward a copy of your CV to Rob Henges - Henges_MDRecruitment@houstonmethodist.orgHouston Methodist Primary Care Group is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine primary care physician to supervise Family Medicine residents in the resident Primary Care Clinic and serve as Core Faculty for the family medicine residency program at our Sugar Land campus. This is a clinical faculty position in an outpatient setting with a strong focus on academic responsibilities. Responsibilities include:Serve as attending/faculty physicians in the residency continuity clinic supervising residents.Provide direct patient care for patients in the Family Medicine Clinic.Assist in developing, directing, and managing the Family Medicine residency program.Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas. Regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, including journal clubs and conferences. Serve as role models and mentors for the residents.Participate in scholarly activity and quality improvement projects with the residents.Protected administrative time is provided to support educational leadership, program development, and scholarly activitySupport and infrastructure are available for scholarly activity, including quality improvement initiatives, research collaboration, and national presentationsOpportunity to join a collaborative and engaged leadership team committed to mentorship, innovation, and excellence in graduate medical educationLeadership involvement in curriculum development and participation in key committees such as the CCC and PECThe ideal candidate will bring demonstrated leadership in GME, including residency program administration, curriculum development, and resident mentorship. Candidates will also have a minimum of three years of experience in graduate medical education, and a strong track record in teaching within an ambulatory care setting, along with a passion for shaping the culture and growth of a residency program. in teaching and precepting residents, experience in graduate medical education, and skills in research or quality improvement focused in ambulatory care. Qualifications include current certification by the American Board of Family Medicine and eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Texas.The core faculty will also be provided academic titles with our Houston Methodist Academic Institute and our Medical School affiliates such as Weill Cornell Medical College and/or Texas A & M College of Medicine. Ultimate title of Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor is commensurate with experience. Houston Methodist Primary Care Group is leading medicine in our communities and expanding every day.
