Job Description
Director of Pharmacy will oversee all aspects of pharmaceutical care, including medication management, regulatory compliance, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. This leadership role is essential in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications in patient care. The Director of Pharmacy will meet the organization's mission, vison, and strategic initiatives. Leads the assessment, development, and implementation of automation and informatics technologies to advance the organization's delivery of pharmaceutical care. • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy practice, including Joint Commission standards and DEA regulations. • Quality Improvement: Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and performance improvement strategies related to medication use and patient safety. • Insight into the operational aspects of a hospital pharmacy, including inventory management, formulary development, and budget management. • Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of various healthcare professionals and the importance of collaborative care in a hospital setting. • Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage pharmacy staff, foster teamwork, and promote a positive work environment. • Proficiency in analyzing clinical data, medication utilization patterns, and budgetary information to make informed decisions. • Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in medication management, staff performance, and operational efficiency. • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, electronic health records (EHR), and medication dispensing technologies. • Ability to prioritize patient safety and quality care in all pharmacy operations and initiatives. • Capacity to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals and enhance pharmacy services. • Flexibility to respond to changing healthcare environments, emerging therapies, and evolving regulatory requirements. • Ability to mentor and develop pharmacy staff, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Bachelor's in pharmacy License & Certification: License issues by Florida or Compact in Pharmacy Work Experience and Additional Information Five (5) years of experience in clinical hospital setting Minimum of (2) years' experience in management and supervisory
