OverviewWakeMed is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiology Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, supporting physicians in patient diagnosis and care. This position works across multiple areas of the hospital, including pediatrics, the operating room, emergency department, inpatient and outpatient settings. Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnostic Imaging: Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic imagesPatient Monitoring: Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being during procedures; report changes or concernsEquipment Operation & Maintenance: Adjust equipment according to physician orders, perform routine checks, and report any issuesImaging Setup & Positioning: Properly position patients and equipment to ensure accurate imagingWorkflow & Preparation: Review orders, prioritize workflow, and prepare equipment for proceduresData & Documentation: Accurately record diagnostic data and maintain patient records in system(s)Patient Support: Explain imaging procedures to patients and families to promote understanding and reduce anxietyCollaboration: Work closely with physicians and specialists in imaging review and diagnostic processesWork EnvironmentRotates across multiple departments including: PediatricsEmergency DepartmentOperating RoomFluoroscopyOutpatient servicesIncludes call/callback rotation across multiple sites WakeMed Culture & Expectations (WakeWay)Successful candidates will demonstrate:Respect for People: Compassion, empathy, and respect for patient dignity and privacyTeamwork: Collaboration and support of a positive work environmentCommitment & Accountability: Dedication to safety, integrity, and high-quality workCommunication: Clear, professional, and patient-centered communicationContinuous Improvement (WW2E): Focus on efficiency, reducing waste, and improving workflows Qualifications:EducationGraduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (required)ExperienceMinimum 1 year of clinical radiology experience (preferred)Licensure & CertificationRegistered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT) (required) Why Join WakeMedJoin a collaborative healthcare environment where your skills directly impact patient care.
