Patient Escort I (HM) | Part-Time | Evening Shift | Wilmington Hospital

We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Patient Escort I to join our team and support patient care by ensuring safe and timely transportation throughout the hospital.Location: Wilmington HospitalShift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PMSchedule: Part-Time*Weekend & Holiday Rotation Required**Must working 40 hours minimum per pay period (bi-weekly)What You’ll Do:Safely transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized vehicle to and from various hospital departments.Assist clinical staff with patient transfers.Maintain and care for transport equipment.Attend training sessions and departmental meetings.Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.What We’re Looking For:Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.Experience: 2 years of customer service experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Certification: Must be able to obtain BLS certification upon hire.Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to walk and stand for long periodsBasic computer and smartphone proficiencyKnowledge of hospital layout and body mechanicsCommitment to confidentiality and professionalismPhysical Requirements:Continuous standing, walking, pushing/pulling heavy equipment.Occasional bending, crouching, lifting.Exposure to cleaning agents, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.Why Join Us?Be part of a supportive and mission-driven team.Make a meaningful impact on patient experience.Gain valuable experience in a healthcare environment.Ready to make a difference? After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
