This includes supporting patients with Medicaid referrals, county assistance programs, and charity care applications.Essential FunctionsManage and collect self-pay hospital patient accounts in a professional and timely mannerProvide financial counseling to patients regarding payment options and available assistance programsAssist patients with applications for Medicaid, county programs, and charity careEducate patients on financial responsibilities and hospital billing proceduresMaintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions and financial arrangementsCollaborate with internal departments to ensure proper account resolutionEnsure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and privacy lawsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, walk, carry, and stand for extended periodsPerform job duties in both office and patient-facing environmentsQualifications & RequirementsAbility to perform all essential duties satisfactorilyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of healthcare billing, collections, or financial counseling preferredFamiliarity with Medicaid, charity care, and financial assistance programs preferredStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalismAdditional InformationThe requirements listed above represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.
