Job Description
The Therapy Student Intern will perform necessary duties and/or special projects under the direction of their department director/s. Internships vary depending on area of interest and can focus on either clerical or patient care assignments and/or projects. This is a temporary, grant funded position - please see qualifications below for eligibility to apply. This opportunity is ideal for high school students exploring careers in rehabilitation or healthcare as this position offers meaningful experience for those planning to pursue degrees in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology. Duties include but are not limited to: Clean/flip rooms Room patients Assist therapist with treatment; remove patient from equipment Transport patient to/from lobby or elsewhere as needed Answer call lights as needed Supplies/ordering Other duties as directed Hours/Shifts This is a grant funded position with 105 hours available to work spanning a minimum of six weeks, up until Labor Day, at our Elbow Lake facility. Compensation The hourly wage range for this role is $15/hour. Benefit Offerings Temporary employees are benefit ineligible but will accrue any benefit mandated by applicable state or federal law. Education/Special Skills: this temporary, grant funded position is available for high school students between their junior and senior year at a Minnesota high school. Interest in pursuing post secondary education in rehabilitation therapies (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology). Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required. Must be able to attend the work site as scheduled. Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both orally and in writing.
