JOB TITLE: PACS Administrator DEPARTMENT: Radiology REPORTS TO: Radiology Director LOCATION: Onsite JOB SUMMARY Responsible for PACS Administration, maintenance of reports, mammography intake coordinator, creation of monthly/quarterly/annual reports related to department and mammography, may also support front office and minor imaging exams (i.e. X-rays, DEXA, etc.). JOB REQUIREMENTS Current Wyoming Radiologic Technologist license. Current ARRT certification. CIIP (ADII) required or obtained within 2 years of hire EXPERIENCE Preferred PACS Administration and/or Information Technology. Radiologic Technology SKILLS Must possess general radiology skill sets to support diagnostic imaging as needed. Must possess a high degree of confidentiality in all matters with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff and public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner. Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people. Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles. Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills. Effective computer and keyboarding skills. Must have ability to learn and use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook. Ability to learn new computer software applications. Must know medical terminology. Must have Information Technology (IT) exposure. Must have project management skills. DICOM / HL7 REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS BLS (AHA) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintains organized PACS system. As PACs Administrator, this person will assist in and/or be responsible for day-to-day operations of PACS equipment, including but not limited to image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, reconciling charges and reports, pre-fetching of prior exams and other related activities. #Consistently check job manager to ensure processes are actively moving through the system. Assist in training of personnel and providers. Responsible for mammography intake coordination, including but not limited to letter distribution/ mammography and radiology statistics. Support building new orderables and charges working directly with coding. Support system updates/upgrades such as Epic/PACS. Collaboration between clinics and vendors. Support leadership preparing a variety of reports. Fills in for front office staff breaks, lunch and vacation/sick days. Performs routine duties as assigned by the director. Must be able to read and interpret medical terminology for purpose of relating radiology reports to other medical offices. Maintains confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations. Any other duties as assigned by the Director. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS Attend department meetings, in-services, and disaster drills. Completes annual education.
