Telemetry Technician

ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT # The Telemetry Technician position provides support to the licensed staff for Inpatient Acute Care Services. The Telemetry Tech role is responsible for performing non-nursing duties at the nurse#s station, including clerical duties as assigned, to observe and report cardiac rhythms, and assist nursing staff as needed with physical care of patients.# # Job Requirements########################## #A working knowledge of medical terminology.# Knowledge and skills required to provide excellent patient care.# Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. ##### # License/Certification: Current OSBN (Oregon State Board of Nursing) CNA certification required. Current BLS certification through American Heart Association required. National Telemetry Tech Certification within 6 months and renewed as required by certification body. # Education and/or Experience:# Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.# Graduate of a certified Nursing Assistant program.# Minimum Experience:# Acute care facility experience preferred.# # Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance############################ Ability to lift and transfer patients is required, usually with the assistance of co-workers.# Normal or corrected vision is required.# Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing.# Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment.# Subject to physical and emotional stress of work environment.# Occasional exposure to infectious diseases. Works inside. Long shifts necessary at times. Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts.# Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs and ambulates as necessary.# Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for up to 12 hours.# Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
