Medical Lab Technologist (MT or MLT Generalist)

The MLT is responsible for performing tests, reporting and maintaining records of test results, and if the lab assistant is unavailable – specimen collection, handling & processing. Performs high complexity testing according to established procedures. Validates and report results of tests performed. Performs and documents Quality Control. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance according to policy and procedures. Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies. Participates in continuing education. | Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: | B.S.Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or Certificate of Completion of a Medical Technology Training program or Associate Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science WITH ASCP Certification as Medical Technologist MT(ASCP). | Have some experience with the following instruments: | Chemistry: Roche Cobs PRO – c503 and e801 Hematology: Sysmex XN-100 Coagulation: CS-2500 Blood Bank: Both Tube and Ortho MTS Gel Micro: BioFire PCR, Cepheid PCR, BD FX40 and general knowledge of culture setup and gram stain reading | Full-time with occasional weekend shift. | Pay will depend on experience.
