We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team on a full‑time night shift schedule. In this vital role, you will provide both direct and indirect nursing care to intermediate care patients, promoting their safety, healing, and overall well‑being. Responsibilities Patient Care & Advocacy - Facilitate, implement, and evaluate individualized Patient Plans of Care and corresponding outcomes. - Collaborate with the healthcare team to support positive patient results and ensure continuity of care. - Serve as a strong patient advocate, promoting safety, dignity, and well‑being. Clinical & Technical Competence - Deliver timely and effective nursing interventions based on patient needs. - Demonstrate strong clinical skills and technical proficiency in all aspects of patient care. - Utilize sound clinical judgment to assess, analyze, and communicate patient information promptly. Documentation & Communication - Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and provider communications in real time. - Perform ongoing review, initiation, and implementation of provider orders each shift. Patient Safety & Risk Assessment - Identify patient safety risk factors, including fall risk, skin integrity concerns, and the need for restraints. - Implement appropriate safety interventions promptly and consistently. - Follow medication safety policies and complete all required Safety Tracking Tools. Delegation & Team Leadership - Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise assigned staff to ensure high‑quality patient care. - Take responsibility for all care provided to assigned patients. - Report performance concerns to maintain a safe, supportive, and effective care environment. Patient & Family Education - Assess educational needs of patients and families, providing clear written and verbal instructions. - Document all education delivered and evaluate understanding as appropriate. Prioritization & Critical Thinking - Prioritize tasks efficiently based on urgency, patient acuity, and available resources. - Demonstrate independent problem‑solving skills, multitasking ability, and effective time management. Professional Accountability & Development - Proactively seek opportunities to expand clinical knowledge and experience. - Support team members, willingly accept additional duties, and complete required education and competencies on time. - Participate in unit‑based councils, performance improvement activities, and initiatives that enhance patient care and unit operations. - Identify unit needs and contribute to meaningful solutions Qualifications - 2 years nursing experience caring for Step Down level of care patients including cardiothoracic surgery patients, preferred. - EPIC preferred Credentials - RN - Registered Nurse - BLS - Basic Life Saving certification - ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - NIH - Stroke Certification Education - Graduate of an accredited nursing program Other Information Entry USD $36.20/Hr. Max USD $59.73/Hr.
