Join us in delivering exceptional mental health care to the community while enjoying an excellent quality of life in Southern Indiana. **Location:** Deaconess Behavioral Health Outpatient (Evansville, IN) ** ****Position Overview** This position focuses on providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for children and adolescents in an outpatient setting. The psychiatrist will work closely with families, schools, and community resources to ensure continuity of care and support for young patients. Our outpatient programs are comprehensive and include: * Full-time and part-time psychiatrists * Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) * Individual outpatient services provided by qualified psychologists and therapists * Specialized group therapy programs * Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) * Adult Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) * Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CD-IOP) ** ****Role Responsibilities** As an Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will: * Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents. * Provide medication management and ongoing therapeutic support for patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. * Collaborate with PMHNPs, nurses, psychologists, therapists, and families as part of a treatment team. * Provide supervision of PMHNPs, as needed. * Offer co-signatures for therapists to support clinical documentation. * Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). * Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards for psychiatric care. ** ****Call Responsibilities** Deaconess Cross Pointe (DCP) offers a full continuum of behavioral health services, including outpatient programs and a fully accredited **60-bed inpatient facility** , ensuring comprehensive care at all levels. Outpatient psychiatrists share on-call duties with all full-time psychiatrists and inpatient PMHNPs. * **Weeknight coverage:** Typically, once every two weeks (5:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.), responsible for triaging intake calls, providing dispositions, and issuing admission orders. * **Weekend coverage:** Approximately one in six weekends, responsible for triaging intake calls and rounding on inpatients Saturday and Sunday.
