Services by the RN include supervising care delivered, coordinating plans of care, and providing education for patients/families. In addition to meeting the basic standards of a Staff RN, the Team Leader is expected to role model and exceed the Standards of Performance. In conjunction with the Manager, s/he is to assume the accountability for the quality of nursing care delivered on a specific unit. The Team Leader gives direct patient care and oversees the care given by other nursing personnel on the unit.
