Location: Mariposa, California – Gateway to Yosemite National Park Department: Housekeeping Openings: 2 Representation: This is a Union represented position and is represented by AFSCME Local 2703

Position Summary Under general supervision, the Custodian performs a variety of cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain safe, orderly, and sanitary conditions in patient care areas, offices, and other District facilities. Duties range from routine cleaning assignments to those requiring knowledge and use of specialized cleaning equipment and solutions.

Key Responsibilities Perform routine and detail cleaning of patient rooms, exam areas, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. Clean and disinfect surfaces, fixtures, and equipment using approved cleaning agents and infection control procedures. Replenish paper products, soap, and sanitizer dispensers throughout assigned areas. Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors; empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash according to infection control standards. Clean windows, walls, furniture, and equipment as assigned. Disinfect and maintain gurneys, wheelchairs, and other patient transport equipment. Launder SNF resident items when launderer support is unavailable. Maintain housekeeping supply rooms and report inventory needs to supervisor. Follow all infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies. Use proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques to prevent injury. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, and staff. Support and participate in quality assurance and departmental improvement efforts

Minimum Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent Previous custodial or housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting desirable
