Job Description
JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE P erforms sexual assault examinations while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Identifies medical stability or injuries, collects forensic evidence, provides/arranges for counseling and follow up care and testifies in courts when summoned. Collaborates with law enforcement, medical staff and community resources. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION T he regional sexual assault nurse examiner ( SANE ) center provides services and resources to Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties in a private and secure facility. Staffed by nurses with specialized training, the SANE center provides immediate medical treatment, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to patients who have experienced sexual violence. Additional counseling and patient support is also available. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS C urrent unencumbered Oregon RN L icensure required. Two (2) years RN experience required, one (1) year experience must be in an acute care setting. Healthcare Provider BLS required. AGH S ane Nurse Program: IAFN SANE -A or Oregon Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification required within one (1) year of hire. Time Management: Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure. Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
