JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE P rovides social work services including psychosocial assessments, brief patient/family counseling, support, resources and education intervention to meet the standards of the patient/family and ensure continuity of care. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION T he Mental Health teams at Samaritan Health Services provide a full range of professional mental health services through a team of highly skilled psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS L icensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW ) in State of Oregon required. Experience as a social worker in a hospital or medical setting preferred. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES P sychology - Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation. Adaptability/Flexibility - Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with high risk or diverse patient populations. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas. Team Building - Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time. Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Social Perceptiveness - Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Ability to provide customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
