36 hours/week, Registered Nurse (RN), Surgical Day Care, Emerson Hospital, Concord, MA Make a Meaningful Impact—Every Patient, Every Day Join our Surgical Day Care team and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’ll provide both pre-operative and post-operative care, helping patients safely prepare for surgery and recover with confidence before returning home the same day. You’ll work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary care teams—where your clinical expertise and voice truly matter. What You’ll Do Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-surgical nursing care for same-day surgery patients Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and interdisciplinary teams Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes with sound judgment Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery at home Ensure all care aligns with hospital standards, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing guidelines Maintain accountability for the safety and quality of care you provide or delegate What We’re Looking For Minimum Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program Experience Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required Experience in CCU, ED, or PACU strongly preferred Licensure & Certifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts BLS (Basic Life Support) – Healthcare Provider certification required ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required PALS required IV Certification preferred Key Skills & Strengths Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills Excellent communication and patient-centered care approach Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and patient experience Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer systems Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
