Job Description

As a Behavioral Health Clinician in the Emergency Department, you will play a critical role in assessing patients in crisis and helping guide them to the appropriate level of care. This fast-paced, highly collaborative role is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about mental health, crisis intervention, and patient advocacy. What You’ll Do In this role, you will be on the front lines of behavioral health care by: Conducting timely and comprehensive clinical evaluations for patients presenting with psychiatric or substance use concerns in the Emergency Department Performing triage assessments to determine appropriate level of care and disposition Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care planning Providing crisis intervention and stabilization support Recommending treatment options and coordinating referrals within the mental health network Documenting assessments and clinical decisions in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards Ensuring patient safety, confidentiality, and compliance with all policies and procedures You will report directly to the Director of Behavioral Health Nursing. What You Bring Education Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related field required Master’s degree preferred Experience Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required Licensure & Certifications LICSW, LCSW, or LMHC required BLS (Basic Life Support) – Healthcare Provider required CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required within 30 days of hire Key Skills & Competencies Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment approaches Familiarity with community mental health systems and referral networks Ability to make sound clinical decisions in high-pressure environments Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with computer systems and clinical documentation Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Why Join Us?
