Ultrasound Student Tech

Position SummaryThe Ultrasound Student Tech supports the Diagnostic Imaging Department by assisting sonographers in performing ultrasound examinations. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and have completed the first semester.   ResponsibilitiesAssist sonographers with patient positioning and preparation for ultrasound examsEscort and transport patients to and from the imaging areaMaintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipmentObserve ultrasound scanning techniques and assist with documentationProvide compassionate care and maintain patient comfort throughout proceduresPerform limited scanning under direct supervision, in accordance with clinical competenciesComply with hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an accredited Sonography program with successful completion of first semesterBLS certification Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentMust demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to patient care
