Floor Tech

OverviewThe floor Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary environment within a healthcare facility.  The role supports patient care by ensuring hospital floors and surrounding areas meet strict cleanliness, infection-control and safety standards. ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesClean, sanitize, and disinfect hospital floors in patient rooms, hallways, operating areas, and common spacesPerform floor care duties such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffingOperate and maintain floor care equipment, including auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and buffersFollow hospital infection control procedures and safety protocolsProperly handle and dispose of waste, including biohazard materials, according to regulationsRespond to spills or emergency cleaning needs promptlyRestock cleaning supplies and report equipment or maintaining professionalism and confidentiality QualificationsRequired Skills and QualificationsKnowledge of cleaning chemicals, floor finishes, and proper usageAbility to operate floor care machinery safely and efficientlyAttention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safetyPhysical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periodsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong time management and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in hospital or healthcare environmental servicesFamiliarity with infection prevention standardsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays
