Department: REGISTRATION Position Opening: Registration Clerk

Salary Range: $22.01 - $33.69 per hour based upon union contract

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Registration Supervisor, the Registration Representative enters and verifies patient demographics and insurance information, obtains proper consents, and collects patient financial obligations. The Representative will register all outpatient, emergency department, and admitted patients. The individual is ultimately responsible for assisting patients and their families as well as working closely with the business office and patient care units across the organization. This position is very customer service driven and must have the ability to communicate effectively to promote a positive patient experience and to exhibit empathy to all they encounter.

Job Requirements: Data entry and healthcare experience preferred; Must have good public relations skills and an awareness of the importance of confidentiality; Ability to work well with others and in a fast paced environment; Must be detail oriented and accurate; Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; Displays an aptitude and willingness to learn new responsibilities; Ability to problem solve with excellent written and oral communication skills; Displays a professional appearance at all times; Dependable and reliable; Experience operating office machines such as personal computers, fax machines, photo copiers, and document scanners.

Customer Service Standards: Supports all co-workers and engages in positive interactions; Communicates professionally and timely with internal and external customers; Demonstrates friendliness by smiling and making eye contact when greeting all customers; Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle difficult situations effectively.
