Job Description
Under general supervision, incumbent provides support for education, quality improvement and safety initiatives and projects. Primary duties include supporting the Clinical Education Manager through coordination of educational programs and materials; conducting medical record audits and summarizing data to support regulatory compliance and accreditation; providing support for the Quality team; and participating in quality committees and quality improvement projects. Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care management, or related field required. Experience: 1 year of recent varied patient chart review experience and/or quality assurance experience preferred. Skills: Strong customer relations and presentation skills. Analytical ability required to gather and interpret data and translate it into useful information. Skill in using a computer and a variety of personal productivity applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) Skilled in producing schedules, timelines, data reports, graphs, control charts. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple long-term projects. Skilled in abstracting data from EMR for review and analysis. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Educational Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, identifies, plans and participates in educational programs based on organizational needs Helps develop and maintain employee competencies within the Learning Management System(s). Assists with student placement coordination. Contributes to the development of orientee schedules and coordinates orientation classes and materials. Facilitates orientation classes with support from Nurse and Field Hospice Educators. Assists in managing clinical informatics systems, including Enclara/E3, eMedicall, Medline, Qualis, and Rover. Supports education initiatives as assigned by the Clinical Education Manager. Assists with committee agendas, meeting minutes, and other assigned tasks. Quality Improvement and Safety Responsibilities: Helps compile and report quality and safety statistics. Supports the education and upkeep of Lean Daily Management Boards and improvement events. Assist with identifying potential areas for improvement Participates in process improvement activities as directed. Assists in policy revisions when assigned. Covers essential tasks for team members during absences. Regulatory and Accreditation Responsibilities: Participates in clinical record audits to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, CMS COPs (Conditions of Participation), and quality improvement goals. Provides clinical teams with meaningful and actionable summaries of audit findings. Assists with coordinating the annual accreditation body standards self-study. Maintains all files and data in a "survey-ready" state. Contributes to the development of educational materials, including EPIC tip sheets, to support ongoing survey readiness. Physical Requirements Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail up to seventy-five percent of work time, in composing, typing and proofreading materials and in meeting established deadlines and priorities.
