As a versatile Medical/Surgical Oncology RN, you'll leverage your broad expertise to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse medical conditions, with a subspecialty in cancer care and surgical procedures. This is a full-time night shift position. Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Practice - Facilitates, implements, and evaluates the Patient Plan of Care and outcomes. - Collaborates with the health care team to promote positive patient outcomes. - Acts as a patient advocate. - Ensures timely implementation of nursing interventions. - Demonstrates appropriate clinical skills and technical competence in providing patient care. - Uses sound clinical judgment and critical thinking to assess, analyze, and communicate patient information. - Accurately and promptly documents all patient assessments, interventions, patient responses, and provider communications. Patient Safety - Assesses patient safety risk factors and identifies patients requiring specific safety interventions (e.g., skin integrity, fall risk, appropriate use of restraints). - Follows medication safety policies. - Initiates appropriate safety interventions promptly. - Completes Safety Tracking Tools as required. Delegation & Supervision - Supervises assigned staff and delegates tasks appropriately. - Takes responsibility for all care provided to assigned patients. - Reports performance issues of team members to ensure safe, appropriate patient care. Patient & Family Education - Assesses the educational needs of patients and families. - Provides appropriate verbal and written education. - Documents assessments and all education provided. - Provider Orders & Clinical Workflow - Conducts ongoing review, initiation, and implementation of provider orders every shift. - Prioritizes responsibilities based on urgency and patient needs. - Uses appropriate resources, problem-solves independently, multitasks efficiently, and demonstrates effective time‑management skills. Professional Accountability & Development - Seeks additional clinical experiences to enhance knowledge and competency. - Actively assists coworkers and accepts additional duties or assignments. - Completes required education and annual competencies in a timely manner. - Participates in unit‑based councils and performance‑improvement initiatives. - Identifies unit needs and collaborates to help facilitate solutions. Qualifications - Minimum of 1 year as a nurse - ACLS preferred at hire or within 90 days of hire - EPIC preferred Credentials - RN - Registered Nurse - BLS - Basic Life Saving certification - NIH - Stroke Certification Education - Graduate of an accredited nursing school Entry USD $36.20/Hr. Max USD $59.73/Hr.
