This role assists with fiscal management, performance improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Pre-Anesthesia Assistant Nurse Manager actively participates in personnel processes, including staff engagement, effective communication, and shared decision-making, while supporting timely problem-solving and change management efforts. Strong collaboration with interdisciplinary departments is essential to this role. Serving as key bench strength for the Nurse Manager, the Pre-Anesthesia Assistant Nurse Manager helps ensure continuity of leadership and fosters a positive, accountable, and patient-centered care environment. Responsibilities Clinical and Operational Support - Assists the Nurse Manager with unit assessments, staff skill proficiency and competency evaluations. - Supports equipment and supply management to ensure readiness, safety, and appropriate utilization. - Assists in overseeing daily unit operations to support safe, efficient patient care. - Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and service excellence efforts.Staffing and Scheduling - Assists with staffing coordination and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and workload balance. - Supports operational decision-making related to staffing needs and workflow adjustments.Personnel Management - Assists with personnel processes, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and corrective or disciplinary actions as needed. - Provides support, coaching, and guidance to staff to promote professional development and accountability.Quality, Performance Improvement, and Compliance - Participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of performance improvement plans. - Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements. - Supports initiatives that promote quality outcomes, patient safety, and continuous improvement.Communication and Collaboration - Communicates effectively with staff, patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary stakeholders. - Collaborates with all departments as an active member of the management and leadership team to ensure coordinated care and operational alignment.Leadership and Change Management - Assists the Nurse Manager in making timely decisions and supporting change initiatives. - Serves as leadership bench strength for the Nurse Manager role, helping ensure continuity and stability within the department. Qualifications - Experience in hospital or acute care setting. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients and team members. - Ability to manage crisis situations effectively. - Proven ability to provide excellent customer service to patients, team members, and visitors. - Knowledge and experience with electronic health records. - Proficiency in CPR. Credentials - BLS Certification - NIH Stroke Certification - ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire) Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program + Bachelor's Degree in a related field. - Active pursuit of a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) if not already possessing a BSN. Entry USD $87,048.00/Yr. Max USD $143,624.00/Yr.
