The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the senior executive leader of Boundary Community Hospital (BCH) and is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, financial, and clinical performance of the organization. Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the CEO provides visionary leadership to advance BCH's mission of delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare to the communities it serves. The CEO fosters a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and employee engagement while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements. Working collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team, medical staff, community partners, and the Board, the CEO develops and implements strategic initiatives that strengthen organizational performance, enhance patient care, ensure financial sustainability, and support the recruitment and retention of a high-performing workforce. The CEO serves as the primary ambassador for BCH, building strong relationships with employees, physicians, patients, external partners, and the community to advance the hospital's long-term success.
Experience Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including a senior executive leadership role. Demonstrated success leading a hospital or complex healthcare organization, preferably within a Critical Access Hospital, rural healthcare system, or community hospital. Proven experience in strategic planning, financial stewardship, operational management, physician relations, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and organizational development. Experience working collaboratively with a governing Board of Trustees and building effective relationships with medical staff, community partners, and governmental agencies. Experience overseeing or collaborating with a skilled nursing facility or long-term care operation is preferred. Nursing Home Administrator experience or familiarity with long-term care regulations, reimbursement, and operations is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, foster a positive workplace culture, and develop high-performing leadership teams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and healthcare operations. Strong strategic planning, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance mission, quality, and financial sustainability. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, employee engagement, quality improvement, and organizational excellence. Ability to inspire trust, promote collaboration, and lead through periods of growth and change. High degree of integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and accountability.
