OverviewPhysician Assistant - Cardiothoracic Surgery in Pinehurst, NC FirstHealth of the Carolinas—a thriving, community-based health network serving the mid-Carolinas and a three-time Becker’s Healthcare Top 150 Place to Work—invites an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery PA to join our dynamic, well-established cardiothoracic team and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Position HighlightsAdvanced cardiac program offers minimally invasive procedures, TAVR, CABG, robotic surgery, lung procedures and more. Four PA team supports three talented surgeons. Responsibilities include first assist, post-op care with ICU management, and clinic. Monday – Friday schedule with 1:4 call. Two years of CT surgery PA experience preferred. Position-specific knowledge and skills required: Proficient with saphenous vein harvest (open and endoscopic) and tube thoracostomy Management of ventilators and critically ill patients In-depth knowledge of and experience in titrating inotropic and pressor medications Efficient with placement of central lines, arterial lines (femoral, radial), Swan-Ganz catheters, and chest tubes Unrestricted NC Physician Assistant license, NC DEA, and ACLS certification through AHA required.
