Employees can also take advantage of generous benefits and wellness programs that add distinct advantage in its employee compensation. **Key Responsibilities** **Clinical Care** * Perform comprehensive evaluations, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation for endocrine conditions * Diagnose and manage acute and chronic endocrine disorders, including: * Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, and complex insulin management) * Thyroid disorders * Adrenal and pituitary disorders * Osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacologic and lifestyle interventions * Provide patient education on disease management, medications, and self-care strategies * Monitor and adjust therapies based on clinical response and evidence-based guidelines **Specialty Focus (Preferred)** * Experience or interest in managing gestational diabetes, including: * Glucose monitoring and insulin titration during pregnancy * Collaboration with OB/GYN and maternal-fetal medicine teams * Postpartum follow-up and long-term risk reduction counseling **Care Coordination & Collaboration** * Collaborate closely with physicians, certified diabetes educators, dietitians, and care managers * Coordinate care transitions, including hospital follow-ups and referrals * Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and quality initiatives **Operational & Quality Contributions** * Support departmental goals related to access, throughput, and patient satisfaction * Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including diabetes management metrics (e.g., A1c control, diabetic retinal eye, * Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EHR * Contribute to protocol development and standardization of care pathways **Qualifications** **Required** * Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program * Prior experience in endocrinology or related specialty * Current licensure in the state of practice * DEA registration (or eligibility) * Strong clinical acumen in managing chronic disease **Preferred** * Board certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA) * Experience managing gestational diabetes or women's metabolic health during pregnancy * Certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or willingness to obtain * Familiarity with insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), and remote patient monitoring **Skills & Competencies** * Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills * Ability to manage complex, high-risk patient populations * Effective communication and patient education capabilities * Collaborative, team-oriented approach * Comfort with technology, including EHRs and remote monitoring platforms **Work Environment** * Primarily outpatient endocrinology practice, with potential involvement in inpatient consults depending on organizational structure * Participation in call coverage as applicable * Opportunity to support program development in diabetes and metabolic care **Position Impact** This role is integral to expanding access to endocrine services, improving chronic disease outcomes, and supporting specialized programs such as diabetes in pregnancy.
