Position Opening: Senior Maintenance Engineer

Salary Range: $27.92 - $42.95 per hour based upon union contract

Position Summary: Maintains the physical plant and systems of the hospital and clinic complexes. Has full
journey status as a trades worker or completion of a recognized apprenticeship, plus 4 years of experience;
Performs skilled (journey level) maintenance, repair and construction duties in one or more trades. Serves as a
technical expert in a specialty filed and leads the work of others. Performs skilled work in one or more of the
following areas: electrical, heating, ventilation air conditioning refrigeration (HVACR) and plumbing. Installs,
maintains and repairs: machinery; equipment; physical structures; pipe and electrical systems in the hospital and
clinics. Has Experience with boilers, chillers, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning refrigeration
(HVACR) pumps, motors, pneumatic and digital building automation systems, emergency utility power, and life
safety equipment. Follows specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings. Visually inspects and tests
machinery and equipment, using electric and electronic test equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines
or equipment to detect malfunctions and effect repairs. Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs
new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand
tools. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Lays out, assembles, installs
and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gauges.
Valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Performs plumbing installations and repairs. Performs
carpentry with the installation and repair of items such as doors, windows, screens, locks, etc, as needed.

Job Requirements: Has full journey status as a trades worker or completion of a recognized apprenticeship for
either electrical, plumbing or HVAC, plus four (4) years of verifiable experience; Able to serve as a technical expert
in a specialty field and lead the work of others; Read and interpret technical expert in a specialty field and lead the
work of others; WA State Driver License; Ability to climb ladders, stoop, twist and bend; Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds;
Ability to work overhead; Journey level trade license(3)
