Medical Assistant I

POSITION PURPOSE The Medical Assistant I position is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical-related functions under the direction of a physician. The Medical Assistant I is responsible for the clinic-patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of healthcare services that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly. # MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications # Experience: # No previous experience required. Education: High school diploma or GED High School Equivalency Test required. # Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and maintained throughout employment. Possess a strong professional, personable, and motivational personality that builds strong relationships with patients. Applications include Microsoft Word and Outlook and familiarity with electronic health record systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with practice leadership, physicians, advanced practitioners, colleagues, and other Holy Cross Medical Center (HCMC) and Taos Professional Services (TPS) team members.
