This position's scope will be around producing reports to do analysis and provide to other counterparts in the organization. Position Description
Responsible for or the development and implementation of effective charge-master (CDM) review, pricing review, revenue capture, education and training programs. Responsible to ensure integrity of assigned facility and clinic CDM's. Provides reporting and analysis that promotes Revenue Integrity objectives.
Education and/or Experience
High school graduate or GED equivalent required, Bachelors degree preferred
2 years of experience in either CPT/diagnosis coding or related Patient Financial Services function preferred
Required functional understanding of ancillary department operations for the facility
Ability to write and be verbally fluent in medical terminology preferred
Required to stay abreast of industry standards and trends
CPC preferred
Major Responsibilities
Actively participates in staff meetings and decision making in respect to Hospital and clinic revenue cycle
Assists the Supervisor Revenue Cycle Integrity or the Director of Patient Financial Services with department specific tasks as requested (i.e. Medicare Chart audits, marketing, etc.)
Shares concerns and ideas with Supervisor Revenue Cycle Integrity or Director of Patient Financial Services and/or other staff for the purpose of improving department, Hospital, clinic, and patient outcomes
Responds to, resolves, and helps prevent revenue cycle issues causing claim denial for Hospital and clinic revenue cycle
Provides revenue cycle explanation information to JHC staff or patients as appropriate
Responds to patient and JHC staff inquiries concerning revenue cycle integrity
Works interdependently with assigned departments at JHC to minimize revenue cycle integrity issues
Provide educative services to assigned clinical departments and financial departments relative to charge code and CDM maintenance and regulatory and compliance rules
Utilize data mining tools to ensure integrity of assigned facility Charge Description Master (CDM's) and appropriate charge usage of the CDMs
Responsible to use data tools to evaluate the accuracy of charge code usage
